Parliamentary debates on the charter rewrite have started and it is expected that the government will win again, after its two executive financial decrees were also endorsed by the Constitution Court.

» Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra posted a message on her Facebook page last Friday wishing Thais would treat one another with honour regardless of sex, race or origin and to respect human dignity. She said she felt saddened because Thai people treated one another with contempt and took sexual advantage for personal or political gains. Then she pleaded for cooperation and understanding of the role of women and vowed to restore the honour and dignity of Thai women.

» Government authorities were in unison, insisting the three bomb blasts in downtown Bangkok did not amount to terrorism because the devices were intended solely to kill unnamed foreign individuals - even though several Thais were hurt. In the parliament, there was bedlam on Thursday when Democrat MPs queried the prime minister about her "secret mission" at the Four Seasons Hotel last Wednesday.
