» My latest visit to Phuket was very pleasant despite the on-and-off rainy season showers. Walking on the busy streets and beaches there, I had no sense that it was the low season. My first landing at Nay Pyi Daw airport, which was actually my second visit to the capital, also raised eyebrows. The airport's modern look and cleanliness are impressive, while a more traditional scene greeted us in the arrivals hall where local people wearing longyi congregated to welcome international guests and escort them to their hotels.
