Just recently, the company -- best known for its premium sandals -- filed an initial public offering at the New York Stock Exchange, which could value the company at US$8 billion (288 billion baht), according to estimates.

Rickety, stilt wooden houses alongside the river may seem common and "normal" for the average Thai, but Bangkok-based Filipina entrepreneur Irma Go has always loved these structures, especially while taking visiting family and friends on boat tours on the sleepy canals of Bangkok.

It should come as no surprise that this amicable artist, better known as Painterbell, is the person behind the wildly loveable and joyful characters John and Lulu. Seatapron first started drawing a blond-haired, French-looking boy and girl for fun five years ago for his Instagram account. Slowly over time, the cuteness of the sibling duo steadily found their fame, with countless brands, ranging from fashion, furniture, communications to toiletries, who sought his cartoons to add a touch of cheer to their products. Today, John and Lulu, along with their friends and other Christmas characters, are decking out the squares and halls of CentralWorld as well as of other 33 branches of Central across the country.

» It happens only once a decade or so. This is a reference to Sansiri's flagship super-luxury projects, where the creation of the most exclusive condominiums and opulent houses are up for grabs. This year, it's Baan Sansiri Pattanakarn, where resplendent white houses (all lakorn-cameo worthy) have been erected on Pattanakarn 30. Inspired by the Regency era, much of the design aesthetics on these 37 rai of land will be derived from what is considered the golden age of arts and culture in 19th-century England.

Twenty-eight leading Japanese artists were invited to create artworks featuring Doraemon, and Uniqlo is bringing the work of one of the most popular and recognised artists to your closet. Everybody’s favourite robot cat gets floral treatment like you’ve never seen before by everybody’s favourite flowery artist Takashi Murakami. A total of 15 tees will be featuring Doraemon with a splash of Murakami flowers in all colours of the rainbow. There will be a plush toy in the same Murakami style too, but for the traditionalists, check out the line of tees using graphics from the original comics.
