» 1. July is the month to celebrate diversity. Woof Pack, a group of creators, artists and activists, reflects on the global phenomenon that is June Pride month. They are hosting the LGBT+ Kaleidoscope Through My Lens exhibition. Bringing together a long list of renowned Thai photographers, "Through My Lens" captures the beauty and candour of the Thai LGBT+ community. The photos reflect on societal taboos of nudity and sexuality, exploring the emotions and difficulty of identifying beyond the bounds of gender roles. It's no child's play

» This Children's Day, Lego aficionados can witness the beauty of Bangkok via the world's most popular building blocks. Created with over 500,000 Lego bricks, 11 iconic destinations in Bangkok have been recreated in both mosaic and 3D, and from an 8.5m, snap-ready panorama. Both traditional and colonial treasures are on display, be it the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, Wat Phra Kaew or Yaowarat Road. The model-building team -- all men who have a hobby of Lego building -- first decided where to position each place, before they worked together to connect the sky mosaic in the background. Then, each person worked to scale down their building, a process which averaged up to two months, with one month to design the final display and another month to build the actual destination. We talked to two of the 11 builders who have long been on the Lego circuit about how creating model destinations is no child's play.

» 1. We've made several mentions of The Forest, one of two Thai short films to be featured at the prominent 18th Far East Film Festival earlier this year. Hailed as a masterpiece by foreign critics for its "classic horror-style camera angles" and its "unique perspective and presentation of Isan culture", those who missed the film's limited screening in SF World Cinema last month can get another chance at watching the film at the Filmmaker's Forum event at the Whiteline Bar on Silom Road tomorrow. The event will also be attended by director Paul Spurrier, who will be discussing his experiences with the film. Screening begins at 8pm.
