    » 1Bangkok's most renowned showcase of world-class gastromony will be starting this Monday, running for one week at Ananta Siam Bangkok. The 17th World Gourmet Festival, supported by San Pellegrino, is bringing in nine master and Michelin-starred chefs from the World's 50 Best Restaurants 2016 to assemble and show off their delectable cuisine. Apart from being able to enjoy the chef's creations, there will also be workshops and masterclasses, like the Parfum Berger workshop, combining fragrances with wines and unique dishes. Prices range from 5,000 to 8,900 baht for the wine-pairing meal, brunch costs 3,500 baht per person, and master classes range from 1,200 baht to 3,000 baht. The National Museum Volunteer will be hosting two interesting lectures at the Neilson Hays Library on Thursday starting at 9.30am with Prof Paolo Piazzardi's Italian Architects In The Kingdom of Siam: Dreams, Visions, Hopes lecture. Prof Piazzardi is the author of Italians In The Kingdom Of Siam and the former cultural attaché at the Italian embassy in Thailand. At 11am, chef Bo Songvisava of Bo.lan. will be giving a lecture on The Beginning Era Of Siamese Recipe Books, taking a look into the first documented recipes of Thailand since the era of King Rama V.
