» Once the massive floods invaded the city, Bangkok residents were forced to slow down their fast-paced life. There were fewer cars or other motorised vehicles in sight on several city streets. They had to depend on unusual means of transportation like military trucks. Although their lives were crippled by the flooding, people on this truck seem to be enjoying the moment. They sat back, allowing their feet to dangle in floodwater, as the truck slowly ploughed through Petchkasem Road. But behind their smiles, I'm sure they had a lot to think about, especially what they had to deal with once the floods receded.

» Millions of cut flowers, all neatly bundled up and waiting for retailers to come collect them, can be seen every day, shortly after sunset, at Pak Klong Talat on Chakkraphet Road. Another common sight is the dozens of market porters, each equipped with a large basket strapped to a trolley. These hard-working people play a major role in the ongoing success of Bangkok's biggest trading centre for wholesale flowers, fruit and vegetables.

» Victory Monument is one of the most bustling places in the city. As a major transport junction, it draws heavy crowds during rush hours each day. I am among those people, travelling to the area to make a bus change since my school days until now. But today is different. Instead of changing from one bus to another, people are now getting off from a bus or van to the more convenient BTS to get into the inner city.

Faithful and patient

» It took me hours in the air and a day on the road to get this picture of these faithful Buddhist followers in Nubra Valley, situated 150km north of Leh, the capital of Ladakh in India. After a long ride to the remote valley, my efforts immediately paid off. My arrival coincided with the visit of the Dalai Lama. I knew there must be something worth capturing through the lens.
