» The annual Bun Phawes (Phra Vessantara Sermon Listening) tradition will take place this weekend on an island in the middle of the Bung Phalanchai swamp in Muang district of Roi Et province. The tradition is held in the fourth lunar month every year as part of the Heet 12, Khong 14 (12 Traditions, 14 Norms) of the Northeast. Phra Vessantara was the Lord Buddha's most recent previous life, which was devoted to giving.
