» If you follow me on IG and Twitter (@niannlynn, shameless plug), you will know I am a certified Swedophile. I love everything Sweden, Vikings included. So, needless to say, if there is a Scandinavian aka Swedish restaurant or bakery in town I will sniff it out faster than the word Sweden can be said.

    Holiday hangover

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 19/04/2019

» Songkran may be over but if you're like me, you'd be suffering from a severe case of holiday hangover. As much as we'd all like to remain in limbo with no work or responsibilities to worry about, we all have to face reality and get back to our usual routines. But that doesn't mean we have to jump into being all hectic again. It's good to carve out some "me time" or time with a few friends to relax and chill, even it's for just a few hours and not the three days we were so generously given over Songkran. With good company, it's time to let your hair down for another new year (see what we did there?), have a good brunch while reading a book, chat over a few drinks or maybe go on a food and shopping trip. We've got a few new places that you'll want to check out.

This was the second time the world renowned French chef and MasterChef Asia judge created special dinner for Pimalai and this collaboration will become an annual event onwards. We simply couldn't refuse an opportunity to chat with him.

Yours truly went to 'Merica to marvel at how nice Los Angeles' weather is, why partition of toilet cubicles are a tad too short, people saying "Hello" to strangers, and wall corner guards.

Yes, yes there is, and for the past six years or so, the team has been going pretty strong. They want to spread the word about roller derby and have more people involved so they can eventually set up Team Thailand officially. How do you join? What's roller derby? How does it work? And can I officially dub myself "Wreck-it Eric"? We sat down with Nolan to find out.

    Hop Til You Drop

Guru, Pasavat Tanskul, Published on 12/04/2019

» Established by the folks behind the Craftpital bar at W District, Hoppy HRS lies just past the open-air food court between BTS Phra Khanong and Ekamai, on the even side of the road. Inspired from their trip to Chicago and their love for street food in the region (namely hot dogs), owners Sahachol "Micky" Chairat and Phatphitcha "Minnie" Suksangwarn decided to create a bar that could serve as a casual hangout spot where their friends can gather after work and enjoy locally crafted beer and sodas, as well as hot dogs. The small and cosy space gives customers a chance to relax on the couch near the DJ booth and sing their hearts out to 80s-90s alt rock. Anybody up for some karaoke to songs by Oasis?
