    • Anonymous commented : Wait a minute!!!!!! All readers have assumed that the poster is truthful….. Is it possible that perhaps there is another motive?? Is this a story that we have all heard many many times?? Farang marrying for love, taking her to the UK, America, Germany, trying to give her a good life. And than things go wrong… I would like to hear the other side of the story… Is it possible it goes something like this… I met her in a bar and heard all the stories of Thai women but I married her because I loved her. I give her money each month and I send some to her parents. I brought her to England and did my best to give her the best life possible. I wanted to start a family. But soon after she got to England she started complaining about everything. She spent money foolishly. She did not cook or take care of the house. She became lazy. Now she has heard all the stories of getting divorced and getting my assets that I worked so hard for. She wants to get a divorce, take my money and run back to Thailand. And she wants advice on how to do it… The only advice this reader can give is that most airlines will accept passengers up to their last month of pregnancy. There should be absolutely no restrictions on international travel for someone 5 months pregnant. Ask him for the money. Perhaps he will be glad to get rid of you..

    British Embassy in Bangkok

By Anonymous, Created on: 05/10/2004, Last updated on: 25/02/2011

» In March, my Thai partner wanted to visit me in London. Before granting a visa, the Embassy wanted a mountain of paperwork including proof of my income, whether or not I woned my own home and a whole lot of other things. At this stage, I have to say that we have many controversial issues in the UK...

    • Anonymous commented : Hi all I'm a Thai woman wanting to share my bad experience with the ECO in Bangkok just yesterday (22Feb)....I'm working in BKK as a tour guide, my boyfriend is English and we are in same age (31) been together for 2 years. I joined him in England ,after he had to return home, with a visitor visa in 2004 then again in 2005...I had no problem in granting this visa as I have travelled to EU and US before. Anyways, this time is different, we decided to try to live in England together so that I applied for a Settlement Visa as the unmarried partner which have been together for 2 years. I came to the visa section yesterday 1 pm and was called for a short interview at 4.15 pm. ...I came in the interview room seeing a British lady and a Thai gentleman.....he asked what language I prefer to use I said either Thai or English, he suggested that Thai should be most clear, and I agreed with him............she started the question.... with his translation....I answered in Thai.....when it came to the question what is my boyfriend doing ...I told them the name of company he is working for which is in England.....she asked if he's in England how could you live together?........I answered in Thai that The first year he was in Thailand doing his own business on bra-bra-bra...but ...I stopped for him to translate and he did translated what I said......She stopped typing and said ' then where is his company's documents?' openning my folder very fast and said out loud ' YOU'RE CONFUSING ME, I DONT HAVE ALL DAY FOR THIS !' in the same time throwing my folder on the desk/counter quite hardly....then turned to the Thai gentleman ' I asked WHAT IS HE DOING? it is very clear, WHAT IS HE DO-ING?' with an angry voice. I was shocked by her act which I've never expected to see. I was so scared instead of walking out from the room ...I apologised as if it's my fault......she said that I have to come back again for a full interview not just a short interview coz my case is more complicated and she told me to come back on March,6th.......I came home with disappointment in UK officer the way she treats the applicant......I've made a complaint to ECO Manager today with no expectation to receive any reply but at least I've done what I wanted to. I'm not sure if I want to come back to the UK embassy ever again.....I applied for this visa because of my boyfriend.......I dont care if they would refuse my visa coz I have a good life here in BKK and I have lots of beautiful beaches to enjoy and my boyfriend dont want to be in England anyway. ...I am just sad with the way they treat Thai people. If she had just slowly read my document, she would have found what she was looking for. If she had just listenned carefully, she wouldn't have broken someone's heart. If she had just been a little bit more patient, everything around her would have been more beautiful.

    • Anonymous commented : I dated a Thai Girl for to 2 years. Family asked for 500,000 baht dowry. I got a bank loan, no problem, I was the luckiest man on the earth, right. Three months after the marriage, (I'm waitting for her visa to the U.S.)she's found a millionaire from England and has changed her phone number. My thoughts, her family thinks they'll be rich in a few years, and who cares about farang hearts.

    family visa

By Anonymous, Created on: 02/01/2004, Last updated on: 12/09/2006

» When the Thai government will allow foreigners with Thai spouse and children to own a one year visa without the need to travel out of the country every 3 month or to show 800 thousands bahts in a bank account, this is very unfair and even most of the Thais don't earn this sum per year, why this discrimination...

    • Anonymous commented : Sure, Ian. According to your logic, England should not blame Germany during WWI and II. USA shoud not ask for political flavors or influencing Europe since they help build Western Europe. Oh, there are not corruption in the developing countries either...they just have everything down to the zero and clean white collar activities and living off those old colonial dividends. Keeping the western economic system is a good idea since these developing countries will never keep up and their IMF would keep them in the gutter. To ensure that they are in the gutter, western banking system like in Europe should continue to have banking secrecy and no question ask policy. Yes, Thailand has problems. We can fix our problems if we have our own way to do so, but Thais are not in control of our own country and government. Do you think Thaksin is 100% working in the benefit for Thais and Thai culture? You can take a look at him again to be sure!?
