» DEAR DOCTORS: My mother and stepfather were married for 42 years when he passed away suddenly. That was a year ago, and she's still struggling. I talked to my doctor about it, and he said it sounds like "complicated grief". I've never heard of that. What can we do to help her?

» DEAR DOCTORS: My husband teases me because I love making New Year's resolutions, but I have trouble keeping them. Some on my list for 2024 -- lose 5kg, start hitting the gym -- have been with me since the 1990s! Any advice on how to do better?

» DEAR DOCTORS: What does the term "biological age" refer to? How do you go about figuring out what your biological age is? I will turn 80 at the end of the year, am physically active and I eat a vegetarian diet. Is there anything else I should be doing to get "younger"?

» DEAR DOCTORS: I am a 51-year-old woman, and I eat a very good diet and exercise six days a week. When I went into menopause, I got hot flashes. Drinking a cup or two of unsweetened soy milk each day helps a lot. Is that safe? I don't have gout, but I've read that soy products can increase uric acid.

» DEAR DOCTORS: My husband and I just hit 65 and are interested in information about preserving memory. I just read about a study that says using your sense of smell more often can be helpful. Do you have any information about that study? The details have been pretty vague.
