Life cycle

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 23/02/2018

» Exercise is considered painful and off-putting for some people. In a city like Bangkok where stress can run high and traffic can eat away at your "me time", people find it hard to put a round in at the gym or are too tired at the end of the day. The cheap food all over the city doesn't help either. But Absolute Cycle is set to change your perspective on exercise with rhythm cycling, a fun and energising way to shed kilos. A special treat for Bangkokians is that Sunny Walters, a New York native who has instructed SoulCycle sessions in the US and has worked as a professional dancer for the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, as well as appearing in the musical film The Greatest Showman, is serving as guest instructor for six months at Absolute Cycle. Guru asked her a few questions on rhythm cycling and what she's looking forward during her time in the City of Angels.

Just a couple of foodies

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 09/02/2018

» It's that time of the year when couples come out in full-force, restaurants are jampacked, roses and chocolates are more expensive, and single people are more bitter than usual. Yes, St Valentine's Day is upon us and that means couples all over the place. We could have just given you a list of places you could go to for a special dinner (actually, we did -- check our Food listings). But in lieu of the upcoming "festivities", if you could call it that, we decided to round up a number of foodie power couples to get to know their favourite restos and what they do during on this romantic day. Perhaps we noobs could learn a thing or two from them.

There are a number of reasons to be excited about 2018, from concerts to (possible) developments in the city itself. To kick off our very first issue of the new year, we at Guru have compiled a list of things to look forward to in 2018. Strap yourselves in. It's gonna be one heck of a year.
