    Retro grade

Life, Pattramon Sukprasert, Published on 09/12/2015

» Charoen Krung Road, Thailand's first road completed in 1864, was once a hub of prosperity, rich with money, culture and diversity. Now in 2015, the road that runs past the Old City, along the river all the way to Thanon Tok, has enjoyed an urban revival. Once home to expats, embassies, religious and ethnic communities and shophouses, the road and its many sois have now been enlivened by a younger vibe, from Maitri Chit Road near Yaowarat (Chinatown) to the galleries in mid-Charoen Krung.

    More on the iPad Pro

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 09/12/2015

» Let me first correct an error I made last week: the iPad Pro 32GB with Wi-Fi is of course not the same price as the 128GB version: 30,900 and 36,900 respectively. The 128GB Pad Pro with Wi-Fi and cellular access is 41,900 baht. It is this version that I have been using. The ease with which I am able to work is impressive.

Are PCs as good as humans?

Life, James Hein, Published on 09/12/2015

» If you are a Dell laptop user, have Microsoft Windows installed and your Windows Defender is up to date then the root kit that is part of the Dell machines will be killed by Defender. As explained before the problem is a self-signed certificate and private key on new laptops, which allows attackers on public Wi-Fi to steal otherwise encrypted usernames, passwords and other sensitive data. Not a very good reveal for Dell but some good security news for Microsoft and Windows for a change.
