Nicolas Chesnier, Sisley regional managing director for Asia-Pacific, presented the brand story, seven years in the making and involving hair experts at the Centre de Santé Sabouraud in Paris for product-testing. Guests obtained tips on caring for their tresses with the new products containing plant extracts, while two young women, Chatcha Patumthip and Wisawan Chewangkul, were given a hair makeover by famed stylist Somsak Chalachol.

    Beyond the bag

» Women (and some men too, to be honest) go hysterical for Hermès' Birkin bag. There is no denying that the French maison's handbag is one of the most globally recognised icons and coveted items, but mention of their furniture line may draw a few blank looks or two. There are no shortages of accessory or fashion houses that also cover interior living grounds, be it American classic authority Ralph Lauren Home or the Italian peacock that is Versace Home. But what exactly is the Hermès aesthetic and what is so enticing about it? How does it encapsulate its high-end luxuriance when their art direction seems to be less is more?

» LETAR Coffee Bar is sandwiched between Thong Lor and Phrom Phong (though Phrom Phong Sukhumvit 39 is the fastest route to the shop) and is hidden in Building 3 of the Racquet Club on the 5th floor. Sounds like it's a little out of the way? It is, but despite this and having been opened for a mere three months, LETAR Coffee Bar has regular customers and has been doing very well, according to its founders. Surprising? Yes, considering its location and small space, as well as the fact that the menu isn't that extensive. Anyways, come September, they'll be moving permanently to Central Embassy. But what makes people come back for more?

We've saved you the hassle and created a list of free-to-download apps that are useful in the Big Mango -- kind of like a Swiss Army knife for the techie (okay, so maybe your phone can't cut things).

» They say cats have nine lives, but one is more than enough, if you happen to be Fa-Raon. In fact, this fur ball probably has a life that is better than most humans, because he is a permanent guest at the resplendent Le Bristol Paris. Appropriately assuming the position of Hotel Cat, the Birman fits the whole picture like a glove. Also known as a Sacred Cat of Burma, this purebred completes the prestigious hotel with its regal posture, beautiful white fur and, as the establishment's luxury positioning would have it, a Goyard collar.

    Living the dream

» Paris may not be as famed for the art of afternoon tea as the UK, but that doesn't mean it's not worth your while. If you're in the City of Lights and have a craving for some top-notch tipple time, make it at Cafe Antonia, housed inside the palatial hotel Le Bristol. The cafe may be named after Queen Marie Antoinette (her mother called her Antonia as a child), but crowds from all circles seem to be drawn to this airy eatery that offers drinks, sandwiches and afternoon tea. There's not even that many tourists, but rather, a large number of locals, be it office men, fashionable Parisians or senior women who come for their delightful high tea sets.
