    Short-sighted woman admits thefts

    » Undercover police arrested Banglamung resident Aroona Singhtoh, 26, for her involvement in stealing up to 30 motorbikes. Bike parts were then sold to various dealers and business operators. Investigators said that CCTV cameras had caught several of the thefts. Nineteen-year-old Aw from Myanmar was also implicated in the crimes. Aroona had nothing to say about the thefts but pointed out she was unable to drive any vehicles because of poor eyesight.

Wichart Premonchart admitted he had visited a room in the apartment block but claimed all the items belonged to him and were not stolen. However, this defence collapsed when the women’s clothes proved to be too small to fit him. Police later confirmed that Wichart had stolen the items. His escape was slowed down by the large number of items he was carrying, which led to his capture.
