    Murder most foul

Life, Yvonne Bohwongprasert, Published on 18/03/2014

» The gripping tale of a disgruntled teenager’s confession to murdering his parents and younger brother earlier this month due to sibling favouritism and an unkept promise by his mother to buy him a car if he made it into university all seem to run hollow in my estimation.

Life, Joe Cummings, Published on 18/03/2014

Litton’s account is very good, as are others by conductors like Jarvi, Weller and, especially, Mravinsky, but it was Ormandy who best traced the link between Prokofiev’s gift for long-lined, heartbreaker themes — those in the first two movements of this symphony, for example — and the achievement of Russian Romantic composers like Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov.

» It has a similar but smaller shape to a sweet green pepper. Inside, it also has tiny, round, white seeds. When sampling this small, long, dark green pod vegetable, it’s tender and slightly sweet. Although lady’s finger, or okra, is a familiar sight in kitchens around the globe, it may be new to novice cooks. And with its texture and appearance, people sometimes feel reluctant to use it.
