As the German retreated, the transvestite snatched the expensive item from around the tourist’s neck but, in the struggle, misjudged putting it in her shoe—losing it on the sand. The pendant lay on the beach for about half an hour before a search returned it to the lawful owner. Freidl did not press charges as his property had been returned.
