News, Postbag, Published on 18/08/2019

» N Parker in his Aug 17 letter has a point when he says that if the reason for the completion of the TM30 is national security, it should also be completed by Thais.

Expand train capacity

News, Postbag, Published on 02/06/2019

» Your May 31 editorial "Tickets to ride too expensive" neglects an important consideration. While I have no problem with making the electric trains more affordable so more low-income people can use them, doing so without adding to capacity will only make the city's traffic problems worse.

Southern scars

Oped, Postbag, Published on 18/10/2025

» Re: "Beneath Tak Bai's calm, scars remain", (Opinion, Oct 15). The Bangkok Post deserves praise for having columnist Kong Rithdee remind the nation of the scars and injustices experienced in the South during the Thaksin regime under Gen Pisal Wattanawongkrit, the Fourth Army regional commander in 2004. He also wrote about notorious cases of impunity and the rise of southern youth in joining secessionist groups.

OPINION

Don't pick on Koh Tao

News, Postbag, Published on 11/09/2018

» It is disappointing that so many readers, letter writers and commenters in the Bangkok Post's various forums exude so much blind hate for an island many have never been to, or they set foot on it for a day, decided it's nothing special and then left again.
