» From March 28 to April 7, those wishing to taste and buy Samut Songkhram’s famous lychees are invited to the “Great Lychees of Samut Songkhram Festival” which will be held in front of the provincial hall. Lychees from Samut Songkhram province are famed for their sweetness. The most popular strain is khom, which bears a sweet, crunchy heart-shaped fruit covered with a dark red peel. Orchards here yield a total of 6,000 tonnes of lychees per year.
