Choices, choices, choices

ยป Japanese restos are not scarce in the Big Mango, but Niku Kappo has a different vibe. Located in The Opus on Thong Lor 10, Niku Kappo isn't overtly Japanese but still has the Japanese aesthetic going on. Inside, there's a Japanese mural painted on a brick wall giving it a rustic yet traditional feel. The woodwork above the kitchen is also familiarly Japanese and the seats are covered with fabric from actual kimonos. Overall, the resto gives off a modern vibe. You can choose to sit outside in the Bangkok air, a viable place to wind down and chill over a beer and a few skewers, or you can choose to dine inside if you want a proper setting... and an air-conditioned room. Plus, you get to watch the chef at work in front of you.
