» A conversation with renowned couturier Somchai "Kai" Kaewthong is usually sparkled with the names of khunyings and historical titbits. It is exceedingly difficult to get the man to talk about himself, even if he would be well justified in doing so having been named this year's National Artist. In fact, today is National Artist Day. » 1Coffee lovers are in for a treat this weekend as Away Magazine in collaboration with Lhong 1919 will be hosting their first ever Bangkok Coffee Cult event. Coming from an urge to organise a small get-together of Bangkok's best cafés, Bangkok Coffee Cult, which takes place until tomorrow, will engage people in the science and culture of coffee. At the grounds of Lhong 1919, baristas from Blue Whale, Casa Lapin, Duck You Caferista and many more will be there to serve some of their newest signature drinks. There will also be tastings of coffee cocktails and activities like coffee pairings. Bangkok Coffee Cult takes place from 11am-7pm at Lhong 1919. Tickets cost 200 baht, and can be traded for a cup of coffee at any participating café.
