» In the story entitled "Deal puts Dawei on fast track", published on B1 of last Saturday's Business section, the third paragraph stated that Italian-Thai Development Plc (ITD) had "received a US$1.7-billion loan from the International Finance Corporation and the World Bank to be used as the first tranche of funds for Dawei". The International Finance Corporation, which is a member of the World Bank Group, would like to clarify that in fact it and ITD are in preliminary discussions about the prospects of financial support in Dawei's initial phase.
