Reform bickering is not helping to get the job done
News, Veera Prateepchaikul, Published on 10/08/2015
» I just cannot understand the logic of Wanchai Sornsiri, a member of the National Reform Council (NRC), and his rejection of the draft constitution, and his "death wish" that this piece of supreme law be killed.

Quit moaning and fix Thailand's problems (Full text)
News, David Lyman, Published on 10/08/2015
» Historically, the US is not thrilled by military coups, particularly those which it does not orchestrate. They are anathema to the US foreign policy dictum of "love only democracies". Why such coups occur is of minor importance.

He gave the correct diplomatic response to a visiting US business group that was trying to press Thailand and other countries into joining and increasing their participation in TPP. Thailand must study it carefully, and then study it again. It would be impolitic and actually impolite to just say "no". It would be wrong and possibly catastrophic to say "yes".

Little chair of horrors
Life, Usnisa Sukhsvasti, Published on 10/08/2015
» Going to the dentist is an ordeal that I dread. I try my best to avoid having to go to the dentist by brushing my teeth after every meal. And since I'm not a fan of fizzy drinks and sweets, I've managed to keep my teeth intact to a certain extent. I can't remember the last time I was at the dentist's; it must have been at least a decade ago. I have great admiration for those who manage to keep their teeth until they're old. I'm hoping I'm going to be one of those people, but last week, after eating some crispy dried pork, my tooth chipped. It's a horrible feeling, to suddenly feel something like a grain of sand in your mouth which you know shouldn't be there.
