    Barking with style

Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 14/03/2014

» Graphic designer Kiddee Charoenpanitkul co-founded Barketek with landscape architect Piyanat Ratanawongsarot through their mutual love for dogs and great design. Barketek, a portmanteau between bark and architect, currently offers stylish products for pets such as bowls and hammock-type beds so your pooch or kitty can eat and sleep in style. With a bachelor’s degree in urban design and a master’s degree in landscape architecture from two American universities, Kiddee is also the creative director of a collaborative called Paper Planes where he works with designers, photographers and programmers on various projects. If you’re interested in Barketek products, visit their Facebook page (fb.com/Barketek). Buy their products online (www.etsy.com/shop/barketek) or go to Room Concept Store in Siam Discovery (10am-10pm. 4/F, 02-658-0140) or Pet Lover Centre in Thong Lor (Mon-Thu 10am-9:00 pm, Fri-Sun 10am-10pm, 02-714-9600). We talk to Kiddee about the pet venture.

    Craving the Cave

Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 14/03/2014

» In this day and age when an Australian chef has won accolades for his Thai restaurant (and there’s nothing wrong with that), we all should know better not to judge a restaurant by its chef’s nationality. The international flavour of Cave is brought to you by a Japanese chef and owner who has a real flair for Italian and French cuisines. The casual atmosphere of Cave is sprinkled with style and personal touches. Sit in the main area to treat yourself to savoury smells and sizzling sounds from the big open kitchen. There’s a giant window that allows natural light to come in but doesn’t offer much of a view. Those who frequent Cave are mostly Japanese expats.
