» As the Bangkok World Book Capital campaign quietly turns another page and a recent survey suggests Bangkokians read an average of only five books per year, Thailand's education has been ranked bottom out of eight Asean countries, according to the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Report 2012-2013. Among the 10 Asean countries, Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam come in as the top three, while Cambodia and Vietnam are ranked sixth and seventh respectively, both above the Kingdom.
