Men get pampered too

Life, Duangphat Sitthipat, Published on 14/07/2015

» Whether you are a local or a tourist, Bangkok always requires a lot of energy to get through each day. So if you are looking for a hideaway where you can restore your energy, the contemporary Breeze Spa is one option you can check out. Tucked on the 8th floor of the Amari Watergate Hotel, the place is easily accessible as it's located in the heart of the popular shopping centre of Pratunam. While going to the spa used to be an activity preferred by women, it's not the same anymore. According to spa manager Suchela Jackson, there has been an unusual surge of men craving body treats barging in and out of the establishment every day over the past year.

» Finding the right van to your destination from Victory Monument — home to the biggest fleet of commuter vans in the country — used to be no easy task. There are more than 170 routes offered by the hundreds of vans sitting at seven different service points at the roundabout, but there is zero signage. Frequent commuters may have mastered their ways around the slipshod management, but first-timers often end up going round in circles and foreign tourists simply lost in translation.

» Nothing beats the aroma of holy basil and its nutritional benefits. But while rich in antioxidants and antibacterial properties, a recent study from the Thai Pesticide Alert Network (Thai-PAN) revealed that holy basil sold at markets in Bangkok is also rich in pesticides — with 62.5% more than the Maximum Residue Limits (MRL). Moreover, holy basil was not the only vegetable found to contain all sorts of pesticides in startling amounts.

» One Direction, the five-member boy band formed from The X Factor UK, had finally arrived.
