Elon's Twitter bid reopens censorship debate

Life, James Hein, Published on 27/04/2022

» Without a doubt, the biggest news of the last couple of weeks has centred around Elon Musk. It started with a tweet where he asked his followers if they thought that Twitter followed free speech principles. Over 2 million responded, with 70% indicating it didn't, and some asked him to buy Twitter. A week or so later he purchased 9.2% of Twitter. This triggered a swathe of wild speculation. Elon then rejected an offer to sit on the board because this would limit his ability to purchase more stock. A week or so later he offered to buy all of the remaining Twitter shares for US$54.20 (1,840 baht) a share, above the current market price and well above pundits' sell price only a little while earlier. The Left went crazy. The board started talking about introducing a financial "poison pill" share approach to both increase the number of and dilute the value of Twitter shares to make it more difficult for Musk to purchase more than 15% of Twitter.

Got them new phone blues

Life, James Hein, Published on 30/03/2022

» It has been 3 years and I have a new phone. Thanks to a very generous rebate from Vodaphone I have the latest flagship in my hands. It feels nice and solid but I immediately put it in a Spigen Neo case, rated as one of the best by some reviewers. I have been happy with the Spigen range over the years. I watched some drop tests and prefer the phone to stay in good shape so I'm also considering a decent screen protector.

A new spin to the world of Pokémon

Life, Komsan John Jandamit, Published on 23/02/2022

» I am not sure if there is anyone in this world who does not know what Pokémon is. In case you're one of them, Pokémon is a game about you, the main protagonist, catching monsters and making friends with them while also using them to fight and traverse the game world to become the strongest trainer. Typically, games will have you defeat six to eight gym leaders, who act as bosses of each town, before beating the last boss to prove your supremacy. But this time, in 2022, there are no gyms, because this latest game is a prequel to all others and no gyms have been established, and the game's townspeople still have very little knowledge about these mysterious monsters.
