This year was a long, winding stream

Life, Tatat Bunnag, Published on 21/12/2021

» As 2021 moves towards its fateful end, it has been another year of mostly staying home and watching movies rather than at theatres due to the never-ending pandemic. However, movie lovers in Thailand have been introduced to many different streaming services including Netflix, HBO GO and most recently Disney+ Hotstar, each featuring their own original and impressive roster of movies, series, animations and documentaries. All through this year, these services have kept us on our favourite couch at home while we enjoy their massive libraries.

Deep dive in a crowded pool

Life, Tatat Bunnag, Published on 26/03/2021

» Four years ago when the Justice League film first came out it got mixed bag reviews. Many DC comic and movie fans even dismissed the film for its poor, unfocused script. It was mostly because the film suffered a difficult production and underwent major changes between 2016 and 2017. It was reported that Zack Snyder even stepped down during the production due to a family tragedy, then Joss Whedon came in to change things around and probably ended up changing things a little too much than they should have been.

No offence

» You'll be familiar with Jim Jefferies' schtick. He's the archetypal Aussie bloke, unconcerned with politically correct ways to address hot-button topics. His rants wrong-foot you with boozy observations that crystallise into astute commentary on modern society, like he's some kind of pub savant.

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 04/08/2017

» Every year, the city of San Diego is the host to thousands upon thousands of geeks and nerds that converge for one reason and one reason only: the San Diego Comic-Con. Arguably the Con of all Cons, SDCC is nothing short of geek heaven and has become the place to make major announcements, whether it be movies or TV shows, that send the hallowed walls of Hall H trembling with the screams and squeals of fanboys and fangirls contained therein. This year's Comic-Con certainly didn't disappoint. Here's some of the biggest things that came out of SDCC 2017 and here's to hoping we have a Con that's at least half as good as SDCC here in Bangkok.

A cinematic wonder

Life, Kanin Srimaneekulroj, Published on 02/06/2017

» After the crushing disappointments that were Man Of Steel (2013), Batman V Superman (2016) and Suicide Squad (2016), it'd be completely fair to assume that Wonder Woman -- the latest superhero film to join DC's ailing cinematic universe -- would likewise be an easy pass. You'd be mistaken.
