» In 1987, a compilation of Central American Garifuna music, or punta rock, was recorded in Andy Palacio's Sunrise Recording Studio and released to great acclaim. It featured the unique sound created by Garifuna communities, mainly in Belize and Honduras. Palacio was the big star of punta rock, a popular style in the Caribbean and Central America.

He studied at Baghdad's Institute of Fine Art and, according to Canada's The Globe And Mail, he was the first black TV presenter in the country. His father, also a well-known comedy actor, was the pioneer. Moneka went into the "family business".

Thai Film Archive to host international FIAF Congress

» From April 21-26, the Thai Film Archive will host the FIAF Congress 2024, an annual conference of the International Federation of Film Archives, with more than 200 participants from 80 countries attending. This is the first time Thailand has chosen by FIAF to host this important gathering. A FIAF Congress will also take place this year to mark the Thai Film Archive's 40th year anniversary.
