Danone Leads National Action on Iron Deficiency

Published on 28/11/2025

» Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) remains one of the most pressing yet often overlooked health concerns in Thailand, affecting up to one in three children under five years old. Because early-stage IDA typically presents no clear symptoms, it is known as a “silent threat” that can permanently impair brain development, lowering a child’s IQ by as much as 13%. To close gaps in early detection and nutritional knowledge, Danone Thailand is working closely with the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), healthcare professionals, and retail partners including CJ, Lotus’s, Big C and leading local stores to strengthen nationwide prevention efforts, from proactive screening to better nutrition support.
