An 'Asean way' for governance of AI

Oped, Shuan Ee & Jam Kraprayoon, Published on 10/10/2024

» As other countries plough ahead with their signature initiatives for governing AI, the pressure is on Asean to show that it, too, has something to say.

Stamping out gun crime

Oped, Editorial, Published on 05/10/2023

» The shooting at a luxury department store in the centre of Bangkok on Tuesday has shed light on "blank guns" -- recreational guns that have become popular weapons here. Risk of global financial crisis spiking

Oped, Chartchai Parasuk, Published on 03/11/2022

» I am writing this article in Tokyo. Judging from my walks around the city during the past week, and despite the fact everyone is wearing face masks, it's like Covid has vanished. Subways and trains are jam-packed and shopping areas are full of people. However, the pandemic has left some scars. Many shops have gone under, including my favourite 50-year-old sushi restaurant.

How Melbourne rescheduled its entire future

Oped, Carlo Ratti, Published on 01/12/2021

» Melbourne is not the most distinctive of Australia's cities. It does not have Sydney's sandy beaches or Brisbane's rugged, Crocodile Dundee appeal. Lying on a flat plain, crossed by a meandering river, it is an urban agglomeration of some 10,000 square kilometres -- six times the size of London -- consisting of a dense urban core surrounded by sprawling suburbs.
