» Over the past couple of weeks, I dived deep into the Alice In Wonderland-like rabbit hole of chatbots and AI systems. This was not your typical "ask a few questions", but more along the lines of jailbreaking the AI to get behind the scenes. You may remember earlier commentary on the code behind the query. This is where the guardrails and biases of the model are coded and why the majority of all AI systems are currently leaning to the Left of the political spectrum.

Microsoft stock booming on AI run

» It's not a good time to be working for Microsoft, but it is a good time to be a shareholder or executive. Stock is up over 30%, net income is up and the CEO Satya Nadella got a nice 10% raise. Regular workers received no pay rise, or effectively a 5% pay cut due to inflation. Microsoft has rationalised it as pat and generic reasons like a "competitive environment" and the "global macroeconomic uncertainties". In reality, Microsoft is using the money to jump into the AI wave through a multibillion-dollar partnership with OpenAI.

An Asian hunger games

» Besides the world premiere of Nakorn-Sawan (see main story), Thailand -- and Thai actors -- are well-represented at the ongoing Busan International Film Festival. While Thai films are slotted into various sections of the programme -- Girls Don't Cry, Manta Ray, Ten Years Thailand, as well as the restored version of The Scar in the classic section -- a Cambodian film with a strong Thai presence is also showing at the festival.
