Truth will prevail over Russia's war on Ukraine

Oped, Viktor Semenov, Published on 25/03/2026

» This recent February marked 12 years of armed aggression against my country and also marks five years since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The Kremlin has constructed a series of myths that revolve around Ukraine's Revolution of Dignity, which Russia labels a "coup d'état by a junta," the alleged "threat from Nato", the so-called "protection of Russian-speaking population", and the sham referendums conducted at gunpoint in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, which are legally null and void.

Carney's speech signals end of Western illusions

Oped, Antara Haldar, Published on 27/02/2026

» When the late playwright Tom Stoppard's Rock 'n' Roll first opened 20 years ago, it was deeply personal for me as a student at Cambridge studying film in Prague. A meditation on the clash between communism and capitalism in Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic and Slovakia), it dwelt on the confrontation between high theory and lived reality in a way that moved me profoundly. Killing the goose that lays the Olympic gold medal

Oped, Nancy Qian, Published on 24/02/2026

» The Olympic Games have always been about more than sports, with the medal count serving as a measure of national vitality. The 2026 Winter Games in Milan and Cortina are no different. The Americans, like everyone else, want confirmation of their preeminence. Provincial Administration Organisation poll buzz but no fix

Oped, Editorial, Published on 06/02/2025

» The Provincial Administration Organisation (PAO) election on Saturday attracted an unusual amount of attention. Despite the PAO elections having been held since 2004, the public have seldom given them that much consideration.

Wrap up iCon scandal

Oped, Editorial, Published on 22/10/2024

» The astonishing speed with which the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) police arrested 18 key players at iCon Group, an online direct marketing company, including its CEO, and locked them up in remand prisons pending further investigation is commendable.

Implications of an ageing population

Oped, Daniel Moss, Published on 11/04/2024

» Thailand is racing to both revive -- and renovate -- the economy, bringing with it profound social changes. Infamous for its role in Asia's financial meltdown a generation ago, the country is today running headlong into a hurdle confronting the region: a dwindling and greying population.
