What the world needs now is…

Roger Crutchley, Published on 15/02/2026

» With yesterday being Valentine's Day it seems appropriate for PostScript to have a brief word on matters of the heart. » Important news from Northern Ireland. For the first time in more than 25 years puffins have been spotted on the quaintly named Isle of Muck. The isle is a nature reserve on the Antrim coast and derives its unusual name from the adjacent town of Portmuck.

Southeast Asia squeezed by superpowers

News, Manishi Raychaudhuri, Published on 15/11/2025

» Southeast Asian nations are in a bind. While the Association of Southeast Asian Nations' (Asean) exporters face increasing pressure from US tariffs and heightened scrutiny of transshipments, their domestic markets are increasingly being dominated by Chinese goods.

A word that has me at sixes and sevens

Roger Crutchley, Published on 09/11/2025

» I try to keep up with the ever-evolving English language but after seeing the buzzwords provided by Dictionary.com this week I fear I am being left way behind.

Keeping in step with ballroom moves

Roger Crutchley, Published on 02/11/2025

» The most entertaining news of the week was the response to President Donald Trump's demolition of the East Wing of the White House so he can build a "big, beautiful ballroom". It is probably fair to say it prompted a "mixed reaction" -- many being totally horrified.
