Published on 17/05/2025

» The world’s largest power polluter, China, made its biggest cut to power emissions since 2020 so far this year, but global power emissions have still held largely flat due to higher fossil fuel power generation in the United States and Europe.

The day the filming had to stop

News, Roger Crutchley, Published on 11/10/2020

» An article headlined "The man, myth and legend" on Wednesday by Tatat Bunnag marked the 50th anniversary of the death of Thailand's biggest-ever film star, Mitr Chaibancha. The actor plunged to his death at the age of 36, while filming a helicopter scene at Jomtien for Insee Thong (Golden Eagle). Mitr had insisted on doing his own stunts and was clinging from a rope ladder dangling from the copter but couldn't hold on. He truly is a legend.

Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 20/03/2020

» The C-word has us all worried, confused and clean out supermarket shelves. The televised address by PM Prayut Chan-o-cha on Monday didn't help much and the temporary closure of various venues until March 31 certainly does not. A few venues have taken extra measures and have temporarily shut shop, namely theCommons Thonglor, Beam and Demo. I'm pretty sure the list is going to get longer in the coming weeks.

News, Chartchai Parasuk, Published on 11/04/2019

» In my opinion, Thailand has invested too much on the wrong types of infrastructure, namely the rail mass transit system and high-speed train system. These systems, despite their usefulness, are far from being cost-effective and certainly are not affordable. The financial burden of having these systems not only involves the cost of building infrastructure, but the operating expenses as well.

» In many ways, my trip last month to the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka and to the world's biggest refugee camp at Kutupalong was a life- and perspective-changing experience.
