Of course, it is natural that after staying at home for a while, many people are craving freedom and are anxious to resume their usual lifestyle. People are frustrated by not knowing when the lockdown order will come to an end or at least ease up. However, when looking at the situation from a different perspective, being forced to restrict your movement has a silver lining as it has brought tremendous advantages and remarkable social values worthy for us to adhere to in a new normal way of life.

» Taking tentative steps onto a long-tail boat on a shallow beach requires a certain sense of balance. After taking our seats, we put on our life jackets. The engine started and we were off in the sunshine and sea breeze to Koh Taen and Koh Matsum, less than 20 minutes from Phang Ka Bay on Koh Samui. By the time we reached the islands, we were drenched from the seawater that splashed us all along the way.

» Fwends' former guitarist Yuki Suwansopa has described his solo project Dimming Air as "a kind of atmosphere that will have an impact on anybody, anywhere, anytime". Evidenced by early singles like Good Morning and First Sat On The Beach, this broad-view approach now gets translated fully into his debut LP, Love Letters In The Sand. And as you may have guessed from its title, the eight-track full-length debut draws inspiration from beaches and, according to the artist himself, is "full of captured moments/memories from the ocean".

» To this day, no one can really say for certain what happened to Dear Tommy, a supposed follow-up to Chromatics' stunning 2012 opus Kill For Love. According to the popular (and, perhaps, most credible) myth, the record and its previously released singles were scrapped entirely by the band's producer Johnny Jewel, re-recorded, and then … silence. Dear Tommy, it seems, is being put on the back burner, and in its place we have their latest release, Closer To Grey, instead.

» Brisbane-born singer-songwriter and rapper Grace Shaw is not afraid to dream big. "Anything is possible if you just say that you're going to do it. That's honestly such a lifehack," she said recently in an interview with Fader. Shaw, who performs as Mallrat, went on to mention that she hopes to one day write songs for artists like Rihanna, Beyoncé and Camila Cabello. Her aspirations may sound rather ambitious, especially for a relatively new talent. But looking at the 21-year-old's resume, which includes two solid EP releases, a tour with fellow Aussie rapper Allday and opening for Post Malone, you can't help but wonder that she might be on to something.
