» Flowers are always a nice gesture, but ones that can last forever are sure to give you a better run for your money. Why not gift mum with some jewellery pieces that come with the floral sentiment? Flowery assortments from Swarovski come in contemporary designs which feature a timeless black and white colour combo. They've also got a pearl option where they can be removed from the earring to channel the asymmetrical earring trend. If you want real diamonds, Tilda's Mother's Day collection features florals which also hold symbolic meaning through eight flower petals. Eight represents infinity, or infinite love in Western culture, while signifying wealth, or infinite fortune in Chinese culture. Otherwise, seal your love with hearts from Pandora which also comes in rose or golden hues this season. Their iconic logo and heart-shaped charms come in sweet colours that will blend right in with your staple silver set, while there are also letter charms to spell out your appreciation for mum.

Recently, Escape Sansiri Hotel in collaboration with Dandelion Café launched a campaign Sweet Treat By Escape x Dandelion Café, finely creating three scrumptious sweet recipes with a unique design to match the rainy season. Our favourite is Snow White Apple Crumble, which offers a red apple from the oven with crumble and fresh butter. Served with vanilla ice cream, this dessert is one mild-blowing delicious dish. The two others include Crumble, Toasted Dark Raspberry S'more and Seashell Macaron with Sea Jelly. The campaign runs until Jan 13 at Escape hotels in Hua Hin and Khao Yai, with starting price at 195 baht.

» If you ask Torsit Sarisdiwongse how long he has been with Greyhound Café, he will jokingly answer: "Since the day they planted the pillars down in Emporium." This is the very man who has perfected the recipes of hip fusion dishes such as salmon sashimi in hot spicy sauce or fried rice with pla salid 20 years ago -- long before cool and trendy proliferated Thailand's dining scene.
