Life, Dr Eve Glazier & Dr Elizabeth Ko, Published on 30/09/2025

» Dear Doctors: My 22-year-old son is severely bipolar, which impacts his life terribly. I have kept up with the studies that have shown success in treating bipolar with a faecal transplant. Do you know of any open studies right now that might take my son? We would travel anywhere to get it done.

Life, Dr Eve Glazier & Dr Elizabeth Ko, Published on 29/04/2025

» DEAR DOCTORS: I started taking meds for depression. When I let my doctor know at my last visit, he told me about a study that says running also helps with depression symptoms. Do you know anything about that? Maybe if I try running, I can stop taking these meds.

Life, Dr Eve Glazier & Dr Elizabeth Ko, Published on 30/07/2024

» DEAR DOCTORS: I had muscle pain and exhaustion for two years, and no one could figure out what was wrong. A rheumatologist recently diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. I would appreciate any information you have about this, including what the treatment options are.

Life, Dr Eve Glazier & Dr Elizabeth Ko, Published on 05/12/2023

» DEAR DOCTORS: What is your opinion of the brain and memory supplements that we see advertised on TV? I'm also curious about other supplements, like the ones that are advertised to help with vision or for joint health. Do any really help?

Life, Dr Eve Glazier & Dr Elizabeth Ko, Published on 24/10/2023

» DEAR DOCTORS: My husband had a stroke at work last spring. His colleagues recognised the symptoms and called an ambulance right away. He spent time in the hospital and is doing physical therapy. He's a lot better physically -- but lately, he's depressed. Why does that happen? My kids and I are so worried about him.

LIFE

Gut-brain axis could play part in nervous stomach

Life, Dr Glazier & Dr Elizabeth Ko, Published on 29/08/2023

» DEAR DOCTORS: Sometimes when I get nervous, my stomach will knot up and start to ache. Sometimes I even get diarrhoea, which is embarrassing. Why does that happen? Should I see a doctor? I'd like to know about any natural remedies that might help, and also any medications.

LIFE

Abnormal sleep behaviours may require medical intervention

Life, Dr Eve Glazier & Dr Elizabeth Ko, Published on 22/08/2023

» DEAR DOCTORS: My boyfriend says that lately I've been talking in my sleep and sometimes acting out my dreams. One time I actually hit him. He says it may be something called an REM sleep behaviour disorder. This has been kind of scary, and I would like it to stop. Would going to a sleep clinic help?

OPINION

Why do we get nightmares?

Life, Tatat Bunnag, Published on 02/01/2023

» Sleep is the best time of day for the body to rest and let go of things we have to face. Dreams are also commonly associated with sleep. Assuming you sleep like a regular person each night, you should have a few dreams, most of which will generally be forgotten, unless they are nightmares.

LIFE

Being in natural light improves mood, increases happiness

Life, Dr Eve Glazier and Dr Elizabeth Ko, Published on 29/03/2022

» DEAR DOCTORS: My company called the employees back to the office, and I'm dreading it. There aren't many windows, and it's all fluorescent lights. Being able to be outdoors while working from home has been great. I know I'm less depressed when I get to be in daylight. Is there any science behind that?
