» Pardon me, dear readers, for the headline betrays my inadequacy in wordsmithery. You see, I put as much effort into coming up with it as the following esteemed people perhaps with their "ideas". It seems you can always count on the government for questionable plans but these three recent examples take the cake. Read on for your entertainment (which may be tinged with hopelessness).

» Ah, Bangkok -- the city of traffic, dangerous sidewalks, delicious street food, scammy taxi drivers and jumping-on-the-bandwagoners. Bangkokians love getting on the latest trend and craze, so when the salted egg phenomenon hit, it was only a matter of time before we were swimming with all things kai khem. Lo and behold, we are now living in the age of the salted egg. Everywhere you look, there seems to be a special salted egg dish or snack that you can try. If you're feeling overwhelmed, I get you. If you're wondering how the heck salted egg is a thing, I get you, too. I wasn't entirely sure myself. But in the spirit of top-notch investigative journalism that we are known for at Guru (wot?!), I decided to embark on a salty journey. For the sake of you, dear readers, and so that you don't have to gorge yourselves on everything salted egg, we present salted egg delicacies the city has to offer, with the real question answered: Yay, Nay or Meh.

» Over-crowded Phuket is increasingly becoming the least of my favourite holiday islands. However, to get away from the tourists (the irony doesn't fail me either) I often choose the furthest tip of the island. » Let's face it: we live in a day and age where our lives are all about social media. People use it for things as vain as conjuring up the perfect image for their followers, to things like having a good online presence for their business. Whatever the case, one of the main platforms that we use daily (if not hourly) is good ol' Instagram. Since 2010, IG has all of us sharing photos, choosing filters, taking videos, being obsessed with the right aesthetic and posting on our stories. IG is pretty easy to use -- what's so complicated about taking a photo and uploading it -- but come on, you don't want to be an IG noob. Here are six apps to turn your IG cred up a notch, and except for one, all of them are available on the App Store and Google Play.

» The Detective Conan manga and anime has been around for some time and has gained a following in Thailand. Tales of a high-school detective transformed into a kid due to a pill that was meant to kill him is still ongoing until today. Fans of the anime are in for a treat because Bangkok is now home to the first overseas Detective Conan Cafe outside of Japan.
