TOA Earns Sixth CFO Certification for Sustainability

» TOA Paint (Thailand) Public Company Limited, or TOA, continues its journey towards becoming a Net Zero organisation. Most recently, the company received its “Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO)” certification for the sixth consecutive year. The certificate was presented to Ms Wipada Nakpairat, Vice President, SHE & Quality Management and Sustainability Division, from Dr. Wijarn Simachaya, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO), with Dr. Natarika Wayuparb Nitiphon, Deputy Executive Director of TGO, also in attendance at the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ).

» Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and low-carbon innovation, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited was recently awarded Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP) certifications by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO). At a ceremony held on 19 March 2025 at the Thailand Institute of Justice in Bangkok, Ms. Kittima Wongsaen, Executive Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Business Development, accepted the certification on behalf of Refinery Optimization and Synergy Enterprise Company Limited (ROSE) from Dr. Chalermchai Sri-on, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

» The Ministry of Finance, through the Excise Department, has partnered with the Faculty of Economics at Chulalongkorn University, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (PTTOR), and Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited to drive awareness of carbon taxation and encourage sustainable energy practices. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed on 3 February 2025 at PTT and Bangchak service stations on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road to kickstart this initiative.

» Following media coverage on 25 October 2024 regarding Thai Oil Public Company Limited’s (Thaioil) CFP project, Thaioil seeks to address inaccuracies that may lead to misunderstandings about its operations. Recent reports incorrectly claimed that Saipem—a partner within the unincorporated joint venture (UJV) consisting of Samsung E&A (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Samsung), Petrofac South East Asia Pte. Ltd. (Petrofac), and Saipem Singapore Pte. Ltd. (Saipem)—had withdrawn from the UJV, allegedly due to losses incurred by agreeing to execute the project at a bid of THB 100 billion, significantly lower than the estimated THB 140 billion.
