Prehistoric pride

» Piriya Vachajitpan, the founder of Museum Pier, has been interested in dinosaur fossils and prehistoric animals since he was a high school student in the US. Piriya saved money from his part-time job as a dishwasher in the school cafeteria to travel to view dinosaur exhibitions and fairs in many American cities. It was an eye-opening experience which encouraged him to collect fossils.

» Bangkok Art Biennale 2024, a major art event in Thailand, will open to the public from Thursday to Feb 28 next year under the theme "Nurture Gaia". The event is organised by the Thai Beverage and Bangkok Art Biennale (BAB) Foundation in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau.

» Morocco and southern Spain were favourite destinations when I was a student in Manchester in the 1970s. We could get a cheap package tour flight to Alicante, ditch the package holiday, jump on a bus to Malaga and then onto Algeciras to take a ferry to Tangiers. We left behind the (more often than not) rainy skies of Manchester for the piercing azure of Morocco's open vistas.

» The Venice Biennale is a prestigious international cultural exhibition. This year, 15 Southeast Asian artists are set to contribute to its 60th edition and showcase their talent at the exhibition "The Spirits Of Maritime Crossing". The exhibition will be held at Palazzo Smith Mangilli Valmarana which will open to the public after being closed for 12 years for this momentous event.
