» A short ride on a jeep brought us along the dirt road. It was just after 5pm in Chiang Rai. The weather was cool, with sunlight seeping between the haze and clouds. We arrived at our destination soon enough. Hiding behind walls of bamboo was lush greenery of the paddy field. We walked through, stepping on stones that led further inside to the big bubblelike structure perched on a raised platform. Right next to it is an enclosure where three elephants roamed.

» Taking tentative steps onto a long-tail boat on a shallow beach requires a certain sense of balance. After taking our seats, we put on our life jackets. The engine started and we were off in the sunshine and sea breeze to Koh Taen and Koh Matsum, less than 20 minutes from Phang Ka Bay on Koh Samui. By the time we reached the islands, we were drenched from the seawater that splashed us all along the way.

» Engulfed in light and stars, two men began singing their well-known tunes to the mesmerised crowd. Above them were a collage of pictures from their heyday as the country's top boy band. Sitting among the audience, we gazed at those pictures projected onto the dome of the Bangkok Planetarium as memories of younger years came flooding in. Three faces were smiling happily from above, while on stage there were only two -- Worrawech "Dan" Danuwong and Kawee "Beam" Tanjararak -- serenading the crowd at a press conference for their upcoming D2B Infinity Concert 2019.
