» Thanks to the rainy season, Curcuma plants in different parts of Thailand are flaunting their showy inflorescences, attracting not just pollinators but also tourists. Of the 38 or so Thai species that belong to this particular genus, Curcuma alismatifolia (widely, but confusingly, called krajiao) has the strongest impact on tourism. It has put Chaiyaphum permanently on the tourist map, attracting tens of thousands of nature lovers to the northeastern province each year.
