» After intermittent rain, the cluster of nimbus finally dispersed and we decided to stick to our plan to see a sunset over the Andaman Sea. The Khao To Ngai Fault Plane, also known as the Time Travel Zone, is one of the greatest places to take in the splendour of nature, but the sky was not clear when we arrived.

» In the northern town of Nan last week, in 35°C midday heat, a colourful procession of villagers wearing distinctive ethnic attire made its way to Wat Phra That Chae Haeng down a lengthy staircase, aside which a pair of naga sculptures stood like guardians. A number of classic wood litters carried replicas of a gold, bell-shaped pagoda as well as various Buddhist offerings such as Lanna-style flags and khan dok trees, all to mark the return of the annual seven-day Hok Peng Festival.

» With people learning to live in new norms, The Shophouse 1527 has initiated the Now Normal project to provide space for local artists and designers to showcase creativity during the Covid-19 pandemic. On view until this Sunday (July 26), the project starts with two photograph exhibitions that illustrate how the way of life has been affected by the virus outbreak.
