By needchange, Created on: 17/10/2010, Last updated on: 24/11/2015

» Everyone knows the story of what has been happening in the US in terms of the trade deficit with China. If you go to Walmart, almost every product sold there comes from China. Walmart is America's biggest retailer if I'm correct. The trend is the same at many other retailers around the country. So...

    • bashar commented : hi eveyone, both buyer and supplier look for competitiveness that is the affect of booming Chinese products doesn't matter what are the products and garments industry is one of the vulnerable one which is threatened seriously. Anyways, I agree that Thai government should make some long term strategy to save this industry and also agree that the government is the reflect of the nation. What I mean is, we (Thai's) are relaxed nation "jai yen" not so, much worry and agreesive to take any immediate action. And from my personal experience we avoid root cause and permanent solutions all we do is negotiate and find some compromise but in business it's not workable. Either we need to do or die and Chinese government is doing rather than dying. And to be competitive it's not only finish product the whole supply chain should be competitive which China has expect some agricultural products like Tapioca, Rice, Rubber, Suger etc. Regarding automotive industry, Thailand still competitive due to Japanese OEM's huge support and strong China's local demand. I'm afraid Thailand may lose automotive industry to China once their local supply is higher than the demand. Thanks all you guys to share your openion.

» The teacher's loud laughs penetrated the green, dense palm orchard and rubber trees surrounding Ban Tang Yang School, a small school in Thailand's southern province of Satun.
