» เมื่อเวลา 13.30 น.วันที่ 8 มกราคม น.ส.จุฑามาศ ชนะพิทักษ์กุล ประมงอำเภอไชยา จ.สุราษฎร์ธานี รับแจ้งจากชาวประมงพื้นบ้านว่า พบพะยูนตัวใหญ่เสียชีวิตลอยอยู่กลางทะเลบริเวณหน้าอ่าวพุมเรียง อ.ไชยาและได้นำกลับขึ้นฝั่งหาดแหลมทราย หมู่ 5 ต.พุมเรียง อ.ไชยา จึงประสานนายสัตวแพทย์ศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนา ทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่งอ่าวไทยตอนกลาง จ.ชุมพรและเจ้าหน้าที่มูลนิธิกุศลศรัทธา อ.ไชยา ลงพื้นที่ร่วมตรวจสอบจากการตรวจสอบพบว่า เป็นพะยูน เพศผู้ อายุประมาณ 30 ปี ความยาว 2.10 เมตร น้ำหนักประมาณ 300 กิโลกรัม บริเวณลำตัวมีรอยถูกของแข็งและของมีคม คาดว่าเสียชีวิตมาไม่ต่ำกว่า 2 วัน สันนิษฐานว่า อาจถูกเครื่องมือทำการประมง จึงได้นำไปชันสูตรหาสาเหตุที่ศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนาทรัพยากรทางทะเล และชายฝั่งอ่าวไทยตอนกลาง จ.ชุมพร อย่างละเอียดอีกครั้งนายเฉลิมเกียรติ พรหมณรงค์ อายุ 41 ปี อยู่บ้านเลขที่ 47/6 หมู่ 5 ต.พุมเรียง อ.ไชยา ชาวประมงพื้นบ้านผู้พบพะยูน กล่าวว่า เมื่อเวลา 02.00 น.วันเดียวกันออกจากบ้านไปเก็บอวนที่วางไว้ในทะเลห่างจากชายฝั่งประมาณ 2 ไมล์ทะเล(3.5 กิโลเมตร)ได้พบพะยูนลอยอยู่ จึงได้ลากกลับเข้าฝั่งให้เจ้าหน้าที่ตรวจสอบน.ส.วัชรา ศากรวิมล นายสัตวแพทย์ปฏิบัติการ ศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนาทรัพยากรทางทะเล และชายฝั่งอ่าวไทยตอนกลาง จ.ชุมพร กล่าวว่า สภาพพะยูนตัวนี้ยังมีความสด คาดว่าเสียชีวิตได้ 2 วัน เบื้องต้นพบที่หางมีรอยแผลเก่าคาดว่าถูกใบพัดเรือ มา ส่วนที่ลำตัวมีบาดแผลถูกของมีคมและของแข็งหลายแห่ง ซึ่งยังไม่สามารถระบุสาเหตุการเสียชีวิตได้จะต้องผ่าตรวจพิสูจน์เพื่อหาสาเหตุด้าน น.ส.จุฑามาศ ชนะพิทักษ์กุล ประมงอำเภอไชยา กล่าวว่า ในบริเวณอ่าวพุมเรียง พบฝูงพะยูนหากินอยู่ไม่น้อยกว่า 10 ตัว เนื่องจากอ่าวพุ่มเรียงเป็นแหล่งหญ้าทะเลขนาดใหญ่ ที่มีหญ้าพะยูนอยู่มากซึ่งเป็นอาหารทำให้มีปลาพะยูนมาอาศัยอยู่บริเวณนี้ ส่วนพะยูนที่พบลอยตายครั้งนี้ถือเป็นตัวแรกในรอบ 6 ปี โดยล่าสุดชาวบ้านพบเมื่อปี 2554 ประมาณ2 ตัวPublished caption::Mystery death...
