    A journey through used jeans

Life, Pimrapee Thungkasemvathana, Published on 29/04/2015

» 'What's great about this country is that America started the tradition where the richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest. You can be watching TV and see Coca-Cola, and you know that the president drinks Coke, Liz Taylor drinks Coke, and just think, you can drink Coke, too. A Coke is a Coke and no amount of money can get you a better Coke than the one the bum on the corner is drinking. All the Cokes are the same and all the Cokes are good. Lush Portuguese sounds

Life, John Clewley, Published on 12/05/2015

» On a business trip to India last week, I had the great fortune to catch several inspirational sets of Portuguese Fado music at the Cidade de Goa resort on the beach in North Goa. It was good to be back in India, and a delight to be in the fascinating cultural melting pot of Goa, although at this time of year it is hot and humid, even perhaps hotter than Bangkok, or at least it felt that way. But India's smallest state is lush and green with some impressive trees, and a strong breeze brought relief from the pre-monsoon heat.

Pornthip, 30, who has known the two for years, is a girly girl with an up-and-at-em character. Cool and composed, Wowdow was born and bred in America, while her artsy sister grew up in Chiang Mai. Pornthip, described by her two friends as a "go getter", was raised in Chantaburi province. Living in sinh

Life, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 30/03/2015

» Traditional Thai attire — sinh skirt, sabai shawl and embroidered patterns — is usually only worn by dignitaries at government functions, elderly ladies at weddings or by waitresses working in Thai restaurants abroad. Otherwise, it is an outdated wardrobe consigned to history and old pictures, far removed from contemporary fashion.
