» With the soon-to-be-released iOS 10, Apple will include a HomeKit app. This will allow a single app to control devices in the home. There are a few devices on the market, with more on the way. These all have their own apps to allow control. I have been trying one such device that demonstrates much potential in this area.

» Saturday was livened up by an attempted coup in Turkey. While there are restrictions in place for social media use there, President Erdogan was still able to show viewers he was alive by calling in to a TV station using FaceTime on an iPhone. I am not sure quite what to think of that.

Like the other media attendees at WWDC, we all take notes in our own ways at the event, then ask questions. I was able to talk to several people, including developers who are most excited at the potential they have to produce software using Apple's tools.

iPhone SE arrives in Thailand

» Today sees the arrival of the iPhone SE in Thailand. Ordering was available on May 2 and deliveries should begin today. Apple online ordering was live at the weekend, delivery is 2-4 days. English language pages for Thai shoppers have also been updated.

» Apple rumours are sprouting like daisies in the approach to WWDC: just a couple of weeks away. There may be one, or two, or three iPhone sizes, with one or two cameras. There is also sure to be a new screen type (we are told). The next iPhone, which will probably be announced then, should have the next A-series chip: the A10. This is the one that many predict could power a desktop class computer.

Sizing up the new, smaller iPad Pro

» Towards the end of last week, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro went on sale, a few days after its release in major American and European markets. Initially, only the three Wi-Fi versions are available, but Wi-FI+Carrier models should be out in a week or two, depending on regulator approval. A similar delay occurred in 2014 when the iPad Air 2 was released.
