» Reading about the terrible plight of the people in the Klong Toey slum, I wonder why one of our super rich billionaires doesn't adopt this slum and make it his project to make life more tolerable and give these people a little hope, even if it is just until they are able to get back to work again. Not only would it be good karma for such a person, it would be good publicity and might help mitigate some of the negative feelings that some of us have towards the super rich.

Besides a selection of new films, cinema lovers will certainly jam the screening of the 1991 film A Brighter Summer Day, a classic from the late Edward Yang and definitely one of the best Chinese-language films ever made.
