Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 11/03/2016

» Last month we rushed to see Deadpool. This month it's all about Batman V Superman. And what's that we hear? X-Men: Apocalypse is coming in May? Our obsession with ridiculously chiseled people in capes, red underwear and crazy healing abilities never ceases. If you're wondering why none of these movies are ever based Bangkok, Dear Readers, it's because not everyone with super powers is suited for our beloved city.

Au Naturale

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 17/06/2016

» First of all, hats off to anyone in the F&B business attempting to do something vaguely new; us Bangkokians aren't a breed so easily persuaded to cross uncharted waters. So stubborn and set in our own ways, for a long time we actually thought the only "real" pizzas were those flat and crispy, and that the only types of cheese we favoured were those that tasted like melted plastic.

Triple threat

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 28/10/2016

» These three happy faces you see are the founders of TRIBE, the spanking new indoor cycling studio located in the bustling Ratchadamri neighbourhood. Business partners, they may be, but this trio have been friends since childhood. Their shared passion for spinning led them to create a totally new workout concept that was not only focused on exercise but also on building a community of like-minded individuals who share an interest in fitness, fashion and music. We caught up with Ploy Bhinsaeng, Pasu "Luang" Liptapanlop and Natapa "Joy" Sriyuksiri to find out more about the studio and what the best track is to spin to right now.

Cool finds in Chiang Mai

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 11/11/2016

» We're not just about the "new". We also dig the cool, the fun, the funky and all things slightly hidden from plain sight. So we did a little detour, stepping into one or two "just-opened" venues and we also honed in on some less-discovered (but totally awesome) places. We tried, we tested and we even got a bit lost trying to find some of these hidden gems. So without further ado, dear readers, here are our top Chiang Mai picks for this year's winter season.

Brunch on the bright side

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 25/11/2016

» Goodbye Rocket Coffeebar. Hello Siwilai Cafe. Although the swanky spot on the 5th Floor of Central Embassy hasn't exactly shed its skin -- having kept the cool interiors and casual vibe -- it has however, been given a new life in the kitchen.

Guac me, baby, One more time

» The setting: They say tacos come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. And whether they're served on a plastic plate from a greasy food truck or topped off with some hipster twist at a fancy brick-and-mortar counterpart, tacos (and maybe, Mexican food in general) are man's greatest creation when it comes to types of food that go dangerously well with any alcoholic beverage.

The spaces between us

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 07/04/2017

» No doubt, Bangkok has its fair share of issues that hover over the urban landscape. From developers chasing out communities to make way for even more condominiums to the lack of greenery -- and don't get us started on the state of footpaths and the Jackson Pollock-inspired electrical wires we have proudly exhibiting all around town -- there's clearly a lot for our eyes to take in.
