    Two hands that never met

Life, M. Arlene Rafiq, Published on 11/01/2012

» The breezy touch of the wind on my face put that refreshing and almost catatonic feeling of existence. It was pure total abandon without care in the world. Once in a while, it's good to be just in a simple existence with no worries of anything ... like a child. You sleep and eat and have no business to worry about or where to get the next meal or what to eat during the day. Just simple and totally relaxed living!

    Pursue the drug dealers

    News, Published on 23/01/2012

Police have leads on the suspected drug dealers, but the real problem lies far from the Thai border in northern Myanmar.

    Thailand's shocking leadership

    News, Published on 02/02/2012

» I read with mounting disquiet your lead article, "Rangers 'killed civilians'," (BP, Feb 1). That this is an appalling public relations disaster is without question. However, what it draws into disturbing focus is the attitude of very senior figures and the clear and chronic lack of effective leadership being given.

    News, Published on 14/01/2012

» Youngsters often complain that adults don't understand them, or that their views and opinions are rarely listened to or valued. Another pet peeve is being talked down to and denied respect. The role models they are told to look up to often turn out to be hypocrites who say one thing but do another. And the fault-finding doesn't end there. Some adults also gripe about the difficulty of interacting with the younger generation. Such intolerance is hard to understand, given that they were also young once.
